FAQs

  • Every journey is unique and so is your financial path. Our RoadMap Process is designed to guide you with clarity, connection, and purpose. Whether you're just getting started or looking to realign, this process helps us understand where you are today and where you want to go next. Here's what that looks like:

    Step 1: The Fit Call
Before we begin any journey, we take a moment to check the compass. This brief call helps us determine whether we're the right guide for you, and gives you space to ask anything that's on your mind. It's casual, straightforward, and built around mutual understanding.

    Step 2: Discovery
This is where we dig a little deeper. Through a thoughtful, conversational process, we learn what matters most to you—financially and personally. It's not about spreadsheets just yet; it's about understanding your story.

    Step 3: The Starting Point
Once we've listened closely, we reflect back to you what we've learned. This meeting gives you a clear, organized view of your current financial life, along with the opportunities we see on the horizon. You'll come away with fresh insight and a sense of what's possible.

    Step 4: The Road Ahead
Now that we're aligned on your goals and concerns, it's time to officially begin the road ahead together. We have a team dedicated to making sure your onboarding process is smooth and full of ease—we'll lead and manage all the details of the account opening logistics.

    Step 5: The RoadMap
With your RoadMap in hand, we shift from planning to action. This is where we begin implementing the strategies that support your vision—always at a pace that feels right for you. As life unfolds, we're here to adjust the route, answer your questions, and help you stay on track.

  • OpenRoad clients recognize the need for professional, objective and competent advice to manage their wealth successfully. We encourage our clients to be actively engaged and involved, and we focus on building an Advisor-Client relationship on trust, shared commitment, and kindness. Many of our clients may ask themselves questions like these:

    • How do I know if I am on track to reach my financial goals?
    • What's the best way to prepare my business for sale?
    • How do I ensure financial stability after a divorce?
    • How do I make my retirement savings last?

If any of these questions are relatable, we may be a great fit! Please get in touch.

  • In simple terms, a fiduciary is someone that acts in the best interest of another through a legally binding oath. Instead of putting their own interests first, a fiduciary must put the other person's interests ahead of their own. Within the context of financial advice, a fiduciary financial advisor can only recommend financial products to a client if it is in the complete and total best interest of the client.

  • Absolutely when managing your assets. OpenRoad Wealth Advisors is a fee-based fiduciary advisory firm that places clients' interests first and provides complete transparency regarding fees and services. You will never have to doubt or second-guess our intentions or question whether or not your financial plan is suited to your unique needs.

  • As an independent fee-based wealth advisory firm, OpenRoad Wealth Advisors upholds our fiduciary duty to all clients. We are responsible for providing fair and full disclosure of all material facts and must act solely in the best interests of our clients at all times—we have no “hidden agenda” through commissions or other incentive to sell any particular financial product that is not optimal for our clients' financial well-being. Our independence helps us avoid conflicts of interest and allows us to align our goals as a firm squarely with yours.

The degree to which we actually care about your future and your outcomes in life is our trademark. Our attention to detail in the work we do for you—and the congenial, collaborative way we deliver it will define your experience with our team.

  • OpenRoad Wealth Advisors partners with Commonwealth Financial Network and utilizes the custodial services of NFS, National Financial Servies, a Fidelity Investments Company. All client statements are printed and mailed by the custodian (NFS) directly. All cash distributions are made directly to the account owner's address of record or bank account by our custodian NFS. Both Commonwealth and NFS hold SIPC and private insurance policies to insure each client's portfolio in the case of unauthorized actions within their investment accounts.

  • Clients that need our level of financial planning and investment services typically have at least $500,000 in investable assets. This minimum amount refers to cash, stocks, and various investment accounts available to be managed directly by OpenRoad. Regardless of asset size, we like to focus on if we are a fit to work together in the areas of personality and philosophical characteristics and synergies.

  • In line with our being your fiduciary asset manager - ethically committed to putting your interests ahead of all other considerations - you pay us a fee that is a percentage of the total assets we manage for you. The fee decreases as the assets we manage increase. Relative to other firms, you'll find our fees very competitive.
